Micro ISV
BucketSoft, LLC is a Micro ISV that was founded in March 2009. The term "Micro ISV" is another way of saying a one-man software company. I saw a need for certain applications in my day to day work, and thus BucketSoft was born.
About Me
My name is Steve Wortham, and I've been coding since I was 12 years old. Back then my interests lay mostly in writing computer games and anything involving animation. I was always hungry to learn how to get the most performance out of my programs and make them look as spectactular as possible. I eventually progressed into OpenGL programming. That's when I started www.gldomain.com and began giving away everything I wrote. In 2001, when I turned 18 I went a different direction and landed my first job as a web developer. And over the last 8 years of making a living as a programmer I've been fortunate enough to also gain experience in Windows software development and database design.
Why I Started BucketSoft
I've always wanted to do this. I really enjoy fine tuning my software, and there's no better opportunity to do that than when I'm my own boss. I suppose the only reason I've waited so long was out of fear of failure. But now that I'm equipped with the knowledge, the ideas, and the means to do this, I guess you could say I'm pursuing my dream.
What's in BucketSoft's Future
Data Comparisons is my first product. The combination of features I have planned for it fit a certain niche. And I have other products in the works that fill an even larger void. As of now this is a part-time endeavor for me and I can't predict the future. But I'm still young and I intend to continue developing BucketSoft products for many years to come.
